Thank you for visiting the website of Dr. William A. Graber and Dr. Matthew A. Fitzer and the Bariatric Surgery Program at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. Dr. Graber founded the weight-loss surgery program, which treats Canadian and American citizens, in 2002. Since then, the program has grown extensively, and we have now performed more than 1,500 weight-loss surgeries. If you are a Canadian citizen who is severely overweight and have been unable to lose weight even with dieting and exercise, weight-loss surgery could be your next step.

Our program welcomes all Canadian citizens. Your health ministry will determine your health benefits in regard to the surgery. For Ontario citizens seeking weight-loss surgery, we work with the Ontario Ministry of Health Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Our Bariatric Surgery Program has been recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Health as a Center of Excellence. If you are an Ontario citizen, please initiate a Prior Approval Application with your family physician to begin treatment with the Bariatric Surgery Program. Our office can assist you in filling out the application; however your family physician must sign the application. Please contact your doctor or OHIP with questions.

We are happy to consult with all Canadian citizens to discuss the surgeries and options, and we will work with you and your health ministry to help you on your way toward losing weight and becoming healthier through weight-loss surgery.
