As part of our ongoing “Jeans for Charity” initiative, we continue to have weekly donations on dress-down day at Dr. Graber's office, where we raise money for charities that are important to all staff. Throughout the year, we enjoyed a “dress down” every Friday while helping to raise funds for some special Holiday donations. We are proud to be able to donate this season to these very worthy organizations: The House of the Good Shepherd,4petsake Food Pantry, Inc., Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired - CABVI, National Center For Missing & Exploited Children - Mohawk Valley Office, and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Utica, NY. Stay on Track!
Thanksgiving and Halloween have passed, but some winter holidays are still to come...so many treats, maybe some sweets, so many opportunities to go off track! What's a weight loss surgery patient to do? Right now- get rid of any overly tempting foods you may have around! Plenty of research shows that you are more likely to eat things that are around you, so the best bet to help keep you on track is to keep these tempting foods "out of house, out of mouth". And always remember, these celebrations should last for only one day at a time, not for weeks on end. It's easy to end up overeating over the entire holiday season, but if you keep with the thinking that the holiday "only lasts one day", it can make managing your weight more manageable.
