A Little Fun for a Great Cause

For the past few months, the dedicated staff at William A. Graber, MD, PC - Weight Loss Surgery, enjoyed a “dress down” every Friday while helping to raise money for some very special Christmas donations. We are proud to have raised almost $500 in just this short time, and have split our donation between 2 very worthy organizations - The House of the Good Shepherd in Utica and the Food Bank of Central New York in Syracuse. Our contribution is small but every bit counts so please consider making a donation to these worthy causes today. Another great organization to contribute to this time of year or any, which happens to be close to our hearts because of the dedicated work we do, is the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC).  The OAC is a more than 50,000 member-strong non-profit organization that works hard on behalf of those affected by the disease of obesity.  From the OAC directly: Our core focuses are to raise awareness and improve access to the prevention and treatment of obesity, provide evidence-based education on obesity and its treatments, fight to eliminate weight bias and discrimination, elevate the conversation of weight and its impact on health and offer a community of support for the individual affected.

We at Dr. Graber's office strongly believe in the devoted work the OAC does year round- please consider a donation to this hard working group.  Peruse their website and literature to find out more about what you can do to help further raise awareness of this disease that affects so many in this country, young and old, from all walks of life.  We agree with the OAC, “Together we DO make a difference”.

Happy Holidays and a Healthy New Year to all!
